I was just about to ask something like that! Do you think Severus would ever actually consider going to therapy if his partner suggested it? Boomers usually don't really trust psychologists and the likes of them but perhaps a partner who has experience with that, maybe they go to therapy themselves, could be able to convince him to try. I just know that it would be REALLY difficult for him the first few times.

I think that a partner who goes to therapy (or did in the past) could convince him. It would take time and patience tho. They would need to tell him about it like:

Well a few years ago I would have reacted very strongly because I too have abandonment issues and tended to always fear the worst and was looking for confirmation bias. I've been treating this issue and found ways to not flip out and seek reassurance within myself or come to you if needed, but not in an overbearing way.'

Stories like that, in explaining the way it helped them understand themselves better, deconstruct patterns about their parents, their lost friendships etc. could, with time, make him think.

He'd still hate the idea of opening up to a stranger (he's barely opening up with his closed ones) and I don't think he'd go if things were 'good enough' for him. He would resist for quite a while, even if they're arguing too much and their partner ask this of him (and ofc it's tricky because if they nag him about it he won't want to go at all).

I think it would take either very big fights - like deal-breaker ones where they don't talk to each other for a while and his partner is almost considering leaving him - or him being in a very bad place mental health-wise (like after the war, I hc him as having huuuuge chances of falling into a very deep depression even with a partner).

He would go and yes, it would be super difficult at first. It would require a very patient and skilled professional to deal with him. He'd retain information, be mean, defensive, skeptical, disdainful or aggressive.

It might take the therapist telling him one day 'Severus, do you even want to get better?' or being very blunt with him in some ways (he'd like a blunt therapist I think) to put him in his place and make him face his contradictions.

janus - idk how to explain it but he was sent in by an enemy to learn their secrets and betray thomas, but he kinda doesnt want to do that anymore because he really loves it there. he likes getting snacks from patton and remus' jokes. he likes the way that thomas rules the kingdom. he likes the ghost that lives in the walls. he likes how logan can function properly under any circumstances, and he likes how roman can always make everyone smile

I can't really remember EXACTLY, but back when i was a child in the early 2000s days of internet and on neoseeker forums, i liked seeing stories people would write in the forums dedicated to more creative things, be it fanfic or original stories. i read fics on ffnet, and my cousin even wrote some harvest moon fics that my other cousin and i would read and talk about lol. honestly it always comes back to harvest moon; i liked reading and posting in the threads/forums for harvest moon fics/roleplays [they were BAD bc i was like. 10 years old more or less lol, but i had fun and no concept of what good writing meant]

i don't really remember what got me into writing fics again more """seriously"""" when i got a little older. i never made a ffnet account despite reading and commenting anonymously for a good few years, and i dont remember how or why i made an ao3.

i was under the impression that rvb was what started it, but i remembered recently that like. i KNOW i wrote some homestuck oneshots back in the day. i very specifically can recall a silly croxy oneshot i wrote, but it's nowhere to be found on my ao3.... and there's even evidence of me having done a homestuck secret santa fic swap bc i have one in my gifts from someone and im p sure thats what it was from. so like, i THINK i mustve made ao3 during my homestuck era [bc that came before rvb; i got into homestuck in high school and i didnt know rvb until i started college] but i guess at some point i got embarrassed about my old homestuck fics and deleted them? which i dont really remember doing, so i have no idea when that happened lol. that or i only ever posted them on tumblr.... if i even posted them here? idr!

but also when i got BACK into writing fics after like a year or two of not writing anything, when i started writing twst fics, i was just writing them in word docs and sending them to my friend over discord based on our inside jokes and au brainstorming we used to do in the dms bc we got into twst together and there wasnt really much of an eng fanbase back in the early days. and i still send her the google doc links when i write them even tho we dont really talk twst aus like we used to lol. ill just be like "i had an idea / ive been writing this a few weeks here" and then i go put it on ao3 lol jsdklhgksjd shes an irl buddy, so not on tumblr or ao3.

Soulmate AU of sorts? Like, every subject of Ymir gets visited by the Godfather at some point during their life. The Godfather comes to the person “at the right moment” with a few ring models for the person to choose within (each ring is made with the respective person in mind and their personality/life, all made by Ymir herself). The one ring that gets chosen is then given to their soulmate by the Godfather. The whole idea is for the person to get their ring back from their soulmate when they meet (if they meet) (and for the soulmate to get their ring too from the person).

NO RING LOOKS ALIKE. EACH ONE IS UNIQUE, MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR THE PERSON.

IF the person doesn't like any of the rings, they can describe their dream ring to the Godfather. However, in that scenario the person doesn't get to see the ring until they meet their soulmate. IF the person refuses to choose a ring altogether (say they either don't believe in soulmates or have no interest in taking part of this), the Godfather decides for them. That's for in case the person changes their mind at some point.

The soulmates don't have to be strictly romantic or anything like that. The pair(s) are decided based on how compatible the two are, made by Ymir herself to help her subjects avoy the pain and suffering she went through for loving the king. They're perfectly made for each other so to say. Still, Ymir doesn't force anything on anyone. She just wants to help.

IF the soulmate isn't a subject of Ymir, then they don't get to choose a ring (for example, Niccolo doesn't choose a ring BUT gets Sasha’s ring. And Sasha doesn't get any ring, but she gets to choose hers). Theoretically speaking someone can have more soulmates, but the cases are extremely rare.

No ranting about JeanMarco with this one, mostly because I don't have much to say on the matter lol. Marco gets Jean's ring within a few weeks prior to enrolling and Jean gets Marco's ring two years into their training (because let's be honest, Jean at the very beginning wouldn't be ready for the realization that Marco's his soulmate. Jean after two whole years of friendship though?). I don't see Marco going around asking people about their ring and stuff, so he keeps it ‘secret’(he just doesn't open the subject). Is only when Jean goes to Marco and shows him the ring Godfather gave him that, you know, pieces start to fall into place. Marco doesn't even let Jean rant excitedly about it, he straight up pulls out the ring out of the pocket and pushes it in Jean's face. The whole situation is chaotic. I think. Too tired to think properly rn.

I wanna clarify that I am a Big Hozier Fan and that most country music is a different lyrical ballpark entirely bc of the nature of the genre. (If I had to describe it I'd say it's more literal and storytelling than the whole, like, in-the-woods poetry thing hozier's got going on.)
